Profile

Founded in 1980 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida by a small group of local business men who desired the camaraderie of other fun seeking individuals, the “Krewe” took root and now numbers 100 members.
We are incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit organization.

“Numquam Ludimus” loosely translated in Latin, “We never have any fun”, our motto states our sole purpose. While the objective of the Krewe is merely to have fun, our members do participate in other civic, charitable and religious organizations apart from the Krewe.

Our founding fathers fashioned our organization after the Krewe of New Orleans. Our officers, midshipman and seaman wear the uniforms of the British Navy of the 1800’s. Because we are seaman at heart, King Neptune (the Greek Poseidon), the mythical god of the seas, inspired our name, “Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune”.
Neptune’s trident, the staff of power, signifies the bond of fellowship that pervades our organization.
Although we are independent from other similar organizations in the Tampa Bay, Florida area, we are affiliated with the Inter-Krewe Council whose roster includes many other local Krewes. We are incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit organization.
